Family dinners are always some of our very favorite nights. We had dinner with the grandparents recently, and Bart pulled out a:

Duckhorn Vineyards Napa Valley Merlot, 2021

Ooh, this was a great wine. We don’t drink a lot of Merlot, but after having this one, maybe we should. This lovely wine smells like dark cherries or a dark cherry pie with a little bit of baking spices. When tasting it, you get a little earthiness even, and a hint of red plums. Though labeled Merlot, this wine is actually more of a right bank Bordeaux blend: 76% Merlot, 22% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 2% Cabernet Franc. It’s real smooth, as Merlot or Merlot-based blends often are. And we have to say, this wine is DYNAMITE with pot roast. We could happily drink this over and over.

This wine sells for $57 at Jacob Liquor
