Looking for great value?? Lately we’ve been loving finding more cost-accessible wines that are delicious, and our friend Mark found a real winner in this one. Check this out:
La Purísima Red Blend, Old Vines Expression, 2019
This is a blend of 85% Monastrell (known as Mourvèdre in France), 10% Syrah, and 5% Garnacha (aka Grenache in France). Did you know that Monastrell and Garnacha originated in Spain?? And this wine does a great job showcasing Spain’s wonderful Monastrell, coming from the Yecla region of Spain.
This wine gives you ripe, dark cherries and almost a flavor of stewed strawberries. You also get a little vanilla and sweet tobacco. It takes Katie back to the times she visited her great uncle in Arkansas and read on the back porch with him while he smoked his pipe.
Guys: this wine sells for $14 at Jacob Liquor. $14!!! And it’s delicious!!! We definitely bought some more to stock up our cellars. Go check it out!!
