Guys! We just found another GREAT value wine! We had a little Sunday family dinner, and we decided to relax together before the coming week with this little gem. Barbera is a red grape from Italy, grown in the same region as the impressive Nebbiolo grape (which makes the wine Barolo). However, while Nebbiolo is a big, powerful grape, Barbera is light and fruity. You could almost consider it an alternative to Pinot Noir from Italy.
This joyful wine featured today is:
Natale Verga Barbera Passito, Piemonte, Italy

This wine doesn't only have an attractive look, it's a really enjoyable wine to drink. We immediately picked up tart cherries, though not overwhelmingly so. It almost smells like a cherry pie, with a bit of that pastry crust smell. You can also get vanilla in this, as well as raspberries, like in a raspberry spread of some kind. This is a delightful, light red wine. It's almost dangerously easy to drink. And what's extra great about this wine? It sells for $14 ($14!!) at Jacob Liquor.
Hurry out and get some today, before we go buy the rest to have on hand!
