Katie here. Though it doesn’t feel like it, summer is basically here! It’s time to break out the rosé wine. I’ve been getting more interested in white wine, but red wine has always been my favorite. When it’s hot out, though, a chilled wine really sounds lovely, and rosé can bring over some red wine characteristics to a wine that tastes great chilled.
This rosé was recommended to me at Jacob Liquor, and I’m so glad it was.

This beautiful bottle is a GSM blend, or a blend of Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvèdre (a common Southern Rhône blend). And oh, it smells so good! It smells like rose petals, or like standing in a flower garden in the warm sun. It's smooth and reminds me of ripe strawberries and a hint of red plums. There's a hint in the aroma of those old, white dusted red hard candies in a tin that your grandma used to have, and even a slight smell of conversation hearts. Thankfully, it doesn't taste like conversation hearts; it tastes like what a beautiful warm Spring day would taste like. There's even a hint of orange and peach flavors in there. It's really lovely, and I went and bought another bottle already, because I already miss it.
Start your summer out right with some rose!
